Thread the Needle

Beginner Body Only Middle Back

A rotational stretch from all fours that reaches one arm under the body, targeting the muscles between the shoulder blades and the mid-back area that stiffens with long sitting.

How to do it

  1. Start on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
  2. Slide your right arm under your body to the left, palm up, until your right shoulder and ear rest on the floor.
  3. Hold for the target time, feeling the stretch between your shoulder blades, breathing slowly.
  4. Press through your left hand to return to all fours and repeat on the other side.
